# Loot Boxes

Loot Boxes are purchasable and farmable items within the game. Usually, they are released alongside events like [Seasons](https://docs.blockchaincuties.com/blockchain-cuties-universe-knowledge-base/bcu-mechanics/game-mechanics/seasons). 

In loot boxes, players can find [crafting ingredients](https://docs.blockchaincuties.com/blockchain-cuties-universe-knowledge-base/bcu-mechanics/items/item-types/ingredients), Cutie [crafting tokens](https://docs.blockchaincuties.com/blockchain-cuties-universe-knowledge-base/bcu-mechanics/items/item-types/broken-reference), Adventure, and Raid [Energy](https://docs.blockchaincuties.com/blockchain-cuties-universe-knowledge-base/bcu-mechanics/items/item-types/consumable-items/energy). 

During the event that the loot boxes are released, there is a way to improve those loot boxes with [tool items](https://docs.blockchaincuties.com/blockchain-cuties-universe-knowledge-base/bcu-mechanics/items/item-types/consumable-items/tools) that unlock additional potential rewards in the loot box drop tables.
